Why this site exists

In 2022, I left Ukraine because of the war. The best country in the world became unsafe to live in because of a neighbor's actions. I moved to Germany.

The first months — constant letters with seals. Jobcenter, Ausländerbehörde, Krankenkasse, banks, insurance. All in German. All with deadlines. All important.

Why existing translators didn't work

I tried all the popular services. Google Translate — works well but is limited to 5000 characters and isn't convenient for documents. DeepL — high quality but paid without limits. Other translators either come with full-screen ads, require registration, or store translation history on their servers.

I just wanted to quickly translate a paragraph from a Jobcenter letter and understand what they wanted from me. No accounts. No ads. No limits.

What I built

This site is my tool. First for myself. Then I realized that millions of people in similar situations need the same tool — Ukrainians, Kazakhs, Uzbeks, Georgians in Europe who work with documents in a foreign language every day.

Who I am

A Ukrainian living in Germany since 2022. Not a programmer by profession, but I learned to build websites using AI tools. This project is for my people. For those who understand what it's like to "wake up to a letter from authorities and not know whether it's a fine or an invitation".
